10 Days Morocco Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN CASABLANCA → RABAT

Your 10 days in Morocco begin with a warm welcome at the airport in Casablanca, where your private driver awaits to guide you through the start of this exciting adventure. The day starts with a visit to the Hassan II Mosque, an architectural masterpiece standing tall by the Atlantic Ocean. You’ll be amazed by its intricate mosaics, cedar wood carvings, and the sheer scale of its prayer hall—one of the largest in the world. After exploring Casablanca, you’ll drive along the Atlantic coast to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. In Rabat, you’ll stroll along the Kasbah of the Oudayas, admire the Hassan Tower, and visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. You will spend the night in a Riad in Rabat’s medina.

DAY 2: RABAT → VOLUBILIS → MEKNES → FES

After breakfast, you will leave Rabat and journey inland. The first stop is Volubilis, Morocco’s preserved Roman site. Walking among its ancient columns, mosaics, and olive presses, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time. From there, you’ll head to Meknes, where you’ll admire the grand Bab Mansour gate, visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and discover the city’s royal past. After a leisurely lunch, you’ll continue to Fes, the cultural heart of Morocco. You’ll check into a beautifully restored Riad inside the medina, where you’ll enjoy the warm hospitality and a delicious Moroccan meal.

DAY 3: FES SIGHTSEEING

Enjoy a full-day tour to explore Fes with a local guide. This city is the oldest city and one of the four imperial cities of Morocco. Besides, its medieval Medina or Fes El Bali offers the most attractions. On this tour, you will visit the great school of Bounania Medarssa and the Karaouine Mosque. In this attraction, you can take pictures of its wonderful courtyard from the main gate and visit the souks. Your tour includes many visits to all the places. After lunch in a traditional restaurant, you’ll explore Fes El Jdid, home to the Royal Palace and the Jewish quarter. The day ends back at your Riad, where you can relax after a day full of sights.

DAY 4: FES → MERZOUGA

After having breakfast, you will head south into the Middle Atlas Mountains. Your first stop will be in Ifrane, a charming town known for its Alpine-style architecture and clean streets. Nicknamed the “Switzerland of Morocco,” here you will have some free time to walk in its streets before you continue to Azrou’s cedar forest, where you’ll meet the playful Barbary monkeys. After lunch in Midelt, you’ll drive through the Ziz Valley, which offers views of an oasis of palm trees. Along the way, you explore countless Ksars of small villages of individual homes. By late afternoon, you’ll reach the Sahara Desert. In Merzouga, you’ll change your vehicle for a camel and trek into the dunes of Erg Chebbi for 1 hour. On the way, you will stop to watch the sunset and do sandboarding. As the sun sets, you’ll arrive at your luxury desert camp, where dinner and Berber music await under the star-filled sky.

DAY 5: EXPLORE THE MERZOUGA DESERT

Start your day early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, an unforgettable experience as the colors change from deep red to golden orange. After breakfast, you’ll go on a 4×4 to explore the surrounding desert, visiting Khamlia village to listen to the soulful sounds of Gnaoua music, performed by descendants of former slaves from sub-Saharan Africa. You’ll then head to Rissani, the cradle of Morocco’s royal family, where you can wander through the traditional market, explore the ksar, and sample local dates. In the afternoon, visit the seasonal lake of Merzouga (when it appears) and return to your desert hotel for a restful evening.

DAY 6: MERZOUGA → DADES VALLEY

After breakfast, you’ll continue your Morocco 10-day itinerary through the dramatic landscapes of the south. Your first stop is the Todra Gorge, a natural wonder where towering cliffs rise 300 meters above a narrow riverbed. You’ll have time to stretch your legs, take photos, and admire the sheer scale of the gorge. After lunch, you’ll journey into the Dades Valley, known for its striking rock formations and kasbahs. Along the way, you’ll pass by Berber villages and scenic viewpoints. You will spend the night in a traditional hotel or Riad overlooking the valley.

DAY 7: DADES VALLEY  → SKOURA → OUARZAZATE

Today, your route winds through the Rose Valley, where pink blooms cover the landscape in spring. You’ll take a detour through the remote Boutaghrar region, where you’ll visit Berber nomad families living in cave dwellings and share a cup of tea as you learn about their simple way of life. Continuing, you’ll arrive in Skoura to explore the Kasbah Amredil, a well-preserved fortress that gives a glimpse into Morocco’s past. Finally, you’ll reach Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco,” where you can relax at your Riad after a day of exploration.

DAY 8: OUARZAZATE → AIT BEN HADDOU → MARRAKECH

After breakfast, you’ll visit the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed ksar made famous by movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Walking through its earthen alleys, you’ll imagine ancient caravans passing through on their way to Marrakech. Then, continue via the winding Telouet Valley to visit the crumbling Glaoui Kasbah, once home to the powerful Pasha El Glaoui. After a scenic drive over the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, you’ll arrive in Marrakech, the “Red City.” Check into your Riad in the heart of the medina, and enjoy the lively atmosphere of the city.

DAY 9: MARRAKECH SIGHTSEEING

Today, you’ll dive into the vibrant energy of Marrakech. Your guided tour includes a visit to the serene Majorelle Garden, the ornate Bahia Palace, and the Saadian Tombs. You’ll wander through the labyrinthine souks, where spices, textiles, and crafts fill every corner. Don’t miss the Koutoubia Mosque’s towering minaret and the buzzing Jemaa El Fna Square, where snake charmers, street performers, and food vendors create an unforgettable scene. After lunch, visit the Ben Youssef Madrasa, an architectural gem with intricate carvings and zellij tiles. End the day with free time, perhaps a spa treatment or a Moroccan cooking class to complete your experience.

DAY 10: MARRAKECH → CASABLANCA

On the final day, you’ll bid farewell to Marrakech and head back to Casablanca. Depending on your flight time, you may have a chance for some last-minute shopping or a relaxing stroll before your transfer to the airport.
