PRIVATE 2 DAYS DESERT TOUR FROM MARRAKECH TO ZAGORA

Private 2 Days Marrakech To Zagora Desert Tour

2 Days Marrakech To Zagora Desert Tour details

If you’re looking to visit the Sahara Desert from Marrakech but have only one night, the best and practically the only option is the 2-day Marrakech to Zagora Desert tour. Located 360 km from Marrakech, Zagora is one of only two destinations in Morocco where you can see the dunes of the Sahara in Morocco

While the dunes of Zagora may not be as towering as those in Merzouga, this Marrakech to Zagora Desert tour offers a more authentic Moroccan experience with fewer tourists. Along the way, you’ll travel through the high Atlas Mountain landscapes, stopping at Telouet Kasbah, Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, and the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate. You’ll also have the chance to visit Ouarzazate’s famous film studios.

Next, you’ll go through the Draa Valley, the longest valley in Morocco, known for its lush palm groves and Berber villages. Once in Zagora, enjoy a camel ride and spend an unforgettable night under the stars. This trip is one that you will remember for a long time.

PLEASE NOTE: The Zagora Desert is a rocky desert with no big dunes, unlike the Erg Chebbi Sahara Desert.

Memorable 2 day Marrakech to Zagora tour
We absolutely loved our experience with Morocco Sahara Tourism. Hassan, our driver and guide, was exceptionally friendly, informative, and flexible with all our requests, including skipping the camel ride for animal rights reasons and driving us to the camp instead. The Zagora desert, while not entirely sandy, was still stunning, and with a little creativity, we got some beautiful dune photos. Our desert hosts, Mustafa and Youssef, were incredible fun, welcoming, and made the evening around the fire magical with music and laughter. The vegetarian meals were delicious, and the camp was spotless, spacious, and safe. We truly recommend this tour to everyone looking for a warm, authentic desert adventure!

Unforgettable 2 Days Marrakech to Zagora Tour
Amazing experience! Though 2 days is short for a desert tour from Marrakech, this one made the most of every moment. Our guide, Mohamed, was fantastic, super friendly, and made the long drive comfortable with well-timed stops and great tips. Ait Benhaddou was a lovely stop with a local guide, and the desert camp exceeded expectations—clean, with hot showers, private tents, and a beautiful setup. The sunset camel ride was unforgettable! The return drive is long but broken up with stops. Just bring water or buy it along the way. Highly recommended. Huge thanks to Mohamed for an incredible trip!

An exciting desert tour from Marrakech
We took a 2-day trip from Marrakech with Morocco Sahara Tourism and had an amazing experience! The drive through the Atlas Mountains was scenic, with plenty of stops along the way. Ait Ben Haddou was a great highlight, and the camel ride to the Berber camp in Zagora was unforgettable. The evening at the camp was lovely, though it got quite hot in the tents overnight. Our driver was excellent, and walking on the Sahara dunes by camel truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Highly recommend!

Best experience ever
Our 2 day trip to Zagora was one of the highlights of our trip to Morocco. We had lots of fun with Mohamed, who was a great driver. The desert camp was comfortable (although bring warm clothes for the nighttime!), and the food was lovely. We would highly recommend this trip. At one of our stops on the road, we left a camera sitting on a table but the Morocco Sahara Tourism team dropped it off at our hotel the following day for which we are forever grateful.
