Fez-Saïss Airport is an international airport located to the west of the city, in the Saïss area, in central Morocco. The good geographical location of the airport, close to cities such as Meknès, Ifrane or Khemisset, makes low-cost companies, mainly Ryanair (based at the airport with a fleet of three planes), link Fez with many European cities. Many MREs (from the French Marocains Résidant à l ’Étranger) are from this part of the country, so flying to Fez is always a good option. In addition, the existing tourism in the religious capital of Morocco maintains these flights.

How to get from Fez airport to the center

There are several ways to get to Fez from the airport:

Transfer service to Fez from the airport
Hiring a transfer service is the best way to start the trip. For a price similar to that of the taxi, you will have a driver who will wait for you at the terminal and take you to the hotel in the shortest possible time.
The advantages are clear: they will wait for you, you will not have to explain where you are staying, they will know how to get there and the best, they will leave you at the door of the hotel or riad, something that a taxi driver would not do.

Taxi from the airport to the medina
The price of a grand taxi from the airport to the medina Fez is 150dh (€ 13.8). Vehicles are vintage Mercedes 300s. It can take you to the gates of Medina, but it will not accompany you to the riad. You can ask other passengers on your flight to take a shared taxi.

Bus
There are several bus lines that connect Fez to the airport. The most popular line is 16, which runs to the train station and has an approximate frequency of one hour. The journey takes about 40 minutes and the price is 4dh (€ 0.4). If your budget is not very tight we do not recommend this option since sometimes you have to wait for the bus for a long time.
